PROCEMA S.A. Institute - Research, Design and Experimental
Production Institute for Construction and Building Materials,
established in 1949, has contributed in creating, by research
and engineering activities, the Romanian building materials
industry.
Complex projects were carried out for:
The research activity is conducted in specialized laboratories
and resulted in obtaining more than 50 new materials and
more than 60 invention patents.
PROCEMA:

was sole producer in Romania of electro-melted
synthetic refractory materials, ceramic fibers and products
of ceramic fibers, refractory mortars for glass smelting
kilns, perlite.

Carries out activities in the field of
quality assurance for construction and building materials
by preparing technical agreements for products, standards,
norms, technical regulations and conducting materials
and products tests.

Was and still is the designer of the technologies
for producing the building materials as well as the existing
units
-
Possesses a databank in the field of
building materials.

Founding member of the Foundation for
Materials Science and Engineering "Serban Solacolu"
that publishes the quarterly bilingual "Romanian
Journal of Materials", new series of "Building
Materials" journal, a scientific publication in the
field of oxide materials that Procema published between
1971 through 2005.

Co-operates with high education institutions
and specialized research institutes from Romania and from
abroad, having members in national and international societies;
The main specialization fields of the scientific researchers,
engineers, architects, economists are as follows:

Within the institute operate 4 subsidiaries
(2 in Bucharest, 1 in Cluj-Napoca and 1 in Timisoara).

services for the building material industry, construction
companies, authorities in the following fields:
